What We Believe

Beliefs form our worship of Jesus Christ.

The Bible, written by divinely inspired men, is God's perfect revelation to humanity. It is completely true and trustworthy, with God as its author and salvation as its goal. It guides us in how God judges us and remains the central standard for Christian unity, conduct, and belief. Every part of Scripture points to Christ, the focus of God's revelation.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He externally exists as one being, three persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit, also known as the Trinity). God created all things and holds all things together. God is good and right. God is all-powerful (omnipotent) and all-knowing (omniscient). God is worthy of all glory and honor. God works in all things to redeem a people for Himself and restore creation.

In the beginning, God created an orderly universe. Every created thing was set in place to work peacefully while glorifying God. The first humans, Adam and Eve, enjoyed a peaceful relationship with God until they chose to disobey God. Adam and Eve forfeited a perfect relationship with God bringing judgment on themselves and all created things. The peace that reigned in the beginning has been disrupted leading to death, pain, poverty, hate, addiction, crime, injustice, etc. The supreme need of all things is to be restored to a peaceful, orderly relationship with God.

From the beginning, God planned to restore all things through Jesus Christ. Even though we can never earn God’s favor, He gives it freely through the death and resurrection of Jesus. We’re saved when the Holy Spirit leads us to turn from sin and place our faith in Jesus as the way to peace with God. The blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, is the only way to be forgiven. Salvation is a gift from God, not something we can earn. Through faith in Jesus, we not only receive forgiveness, but the Holy Spirit empowers us to live out the Gospel and grow in holiness.

The Church is a community of believers in Jesus Christ who are unified through faith and baptism. Together, we are committed to following Jesus’ teachings, obeying His commands, and sharing the Gospel with the world. The Church regularly gathers to teach Scripture, worship, and practice Communion and Baptism, just as Jesus commanded. Pastors help guide the Church by teaching, praying, and equipping people for ministry. But being the Church isn’t just about weekly gatherings—it's about living out our faith every day, loving and serving others for the glory of Christ.

Man was created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with Him through forgiveness and salvation. To be separated from God is Hell, and to be in union with Him is Heaven. Both Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. God will one day raise the dead and judge all people, assigning unbelievers to eternal, conscious punishment and believers to eternal joy and blessedness with Him in the new heaven and new earth, all to the praise of His glorious grace.
